Downhill MTB Development Series
For Female Riders Looking to Level Up Their Gravity Racing Skills
This two-day race-focused development series is designed for female riders who want to refine their downhill skills, gain confidence on technical terrain, and prepare for State or National Level DH/Enduro Races, World Masters Champs, or Crankworx Downhill.
Led by two experienced local coaches, this program provides expert guidance on track knowledge, technical skills, and race strategies.
Day 1 – Dial in Your Suspension Setup, Master Race Lines & Technical Skills
8am -4pm
Full-Day Shuttles – Smithfield MTB Park (World Downhill Track)
This session begins with MTB suspension setup, covering sag adjustment for optimal balance and rebound tuning to control how your bike responds to terrain. Riders will complete repeatable test runs on the same section, creating a controlled environment to measure the effects of each adjustment. With guided feedback, you'll refine your setup to improve traction, stability, and confidence before progressing to more technical terrain.
Following setup, the focus shifts to technical skills, race lines, and advanced terrain management. A guided track walk with coaches will break down line choices, key technical features, and race strategies, helping you understand how to approach challenging sections with precision and control. Riders will then tackle the track, sessioning rock gardens, corners, and technical sections, with individualised coaching and real-time feedback to fine-tune their technique.
Lunch will be provided before continuing the afternoon session, ensuring you're fuelled up for the next phase of training.
Day 2 – Putting the pieces together
8am -12pm
Half-Day Shuttles – Smithfield MTB Park (World Downhill Track)
Building on Day 1, this session focuses on refining race lines, technical skills, and confidence at speed. Riders will complete full track runs, with coaches providing real-time feedback to layer on skills learned from the previous day. With each run, you'll fine-tune line choice, cornering, terrain management, and race flow, ensuring you're prepared for race-paced execution on challenging downhill terrain.
